‘Rick and Morty’ Season 3 Episode 1 Breakdown Overkill; Plus Easter Eggs Theory Explained [VIDEO]
ByAdult Swim just dropped the first episode of "Rick and Morty" season 3 and it is nothing less of a savage surprise after making an unprecedented release last April Fool's Day. However, the producers assured that the episode one entitled "The Rickshank Redemption" will be making another rounds of airing. In the meantime, (Spoilers Alert) below is a brief breakdown of the said episode.
According to Vulture, the "Rick and Morty" season 3 opening scene at the Shoney's is somewhat a kind of fever-dream simulation as Rick Sanchez voluntarily persuade Jerry to fold himself in. In the end, the protagonist succeeded and found his self transported in the mind of a Krombopulos Michael-esque alien thought the agent played by Nathan Fillion.
The government led interrogation aims to know how Rick invented his portal gun. However, the state of his mind became unstable then the aliens pushed Rick in a psychotic break. In addition, Rick has mentioned that comedy comes in threes before he jumped in Fillion's mind and said he needed to take his shit thrice, EmergencyAwasome noted.
Spoiler alert. This reference came from "Shakeshank Redemption" movie where the main character escaped the prison by crawling out through a sewer. Whereas, in "Rick and Morty" season 3, Rick did the deed by crawling out through the minds and sewer of various Galactic Prison and Rick Council members to achieve his goal of toppling down the Galactic Government.
By surprise, he was able to devalue the Galactic empire currency and teleported the Citadel in the exact location of Galactic Federation Prison. This master plan reduces the threat posed by the Galactic Prison in "Rick and Morty" season 3.
For the Easter Egg surprise, Bird person is back as Phoenix Person in "Rick and Morty" season 3. This time he seems to be the first person to turn against Rick by the manipulation of the Galactic Government.
