What a year it's been for #3 Florida (17-2, 6-0) and their leading scorer, senior Casey Prather. The Tennessee product had never even averaged over 20 minutes before this year, much less 10 points or come close to leading the team in per game scoring. The 6-foot-6 forward still averages relatively few minutes (28 per) for a man averaging nearly 17 points per outing. That's because he's a super-efficient 61 percent from the field and a solid 70 percent from the line.

Overall, the Gators have five players averaging 10 or more points per game, though they don't rank tremendously high in team scoring at just 71 points per 40 minutes. Similar to Syracuse, Florida earns its national rank, statistically speaking, on the defensive end and their 58.8 points per game against average.

After losing their first two games of the year to ranked opponents, Florida rebounded with back to back wins over then #6 Kansas and #23 Memphis. They haven't lost since.

Upon closer review of their opponent in tonight's 7:00 pm EST game, Mississippi State (13-6, 3-3), their game to game resume doesn't quite stand up to their actual record. Also, they have a tendency to lose bad when they do lose. All that bodes well for a Florida 14 point cover, if the game wasn't at Mississippi. As good as the Gators have been, they haven't been the same away from home. Both of their losses were away, while there three conference games outside of Florida were all decided by six points or less. That trend sounds safer to me than a blowout.
