College life becomes a bit difficult when students have to make time for their studies and take care of themselves at the same time. Cooking requires more effort but students should learn this basic life skill.

It was previously reported that college students are notorious for their unhealthy lifestyle, with the limited resources they have and the pressure they feel with their studies. They are known to eat a lot of junk food and opt for microwave dinners.

USA Today College shared seven recipes that students can easily make in their dorm rooms. The ingredients are also healthy and easy to find.

Scrambled Eggs

Eggs could be deemed as a superfood since it can be added to a lot of other ingredients and provides students with protein. It can also be enjoyed by itself. Students can make scrambled eggs just by beating the eggs in a microwaveable container, add cheese or salt and pepper and cook in the microwave for 45 seconds.

2-ingredient Protein Cake

This easy, guilt-free cake can be made by mixing a scoop of protein powder and two to three egg whites. Just mix until it has a batter-like consistency and heat in the microwave for one minute.

3-ingredient Mac and Cheese (not the instant kind)

While it may be infinitely easier to cook instant mac and cheese, it's healthier if students cook it from scratch because they know what ingredients they are using. They just need to place half a cup of their favorite pasta into a microwaveable container with half a cup of water. It should be heated in 2-minute intervals for a total of about eight to 10 minutes. Add one-fourth cup of milk and cheese.

Flourless Oatmeal Cookie

Another healthy recipe, this meal just needs half a banana (mushed) stirred in with a tablespoon and a half of butter, a tablespoon of milk, half a tablespoon of honey and 4 tablespoons of oats and raisins. It should be cooked in the microwave for 45 seconds to one minute.

Oatmeal

This also needs a mushed banana, 2 tablespoons of peanut butter and instant oats. Students can also add milk or other fruits such as berries.
