Real-life Iron Man Elon Musk has created another tech company called Neuralink. What this company will focus on will be how to link human brains with computers to create a much more sophisticated artificial intelligence.

In order to achieve this, Neuralink will mainly focus on using the neural lace technology where people and machines can interact with each other without the use of any physical interface.

Neural lace technology works by implanting electrodes into the brain so that people can communicate with machines as well as upload and download their thoughts. According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, this technology will improve the cognitive skills and the memory of human beings.

The idea of humans interacting with computers seamlessly is the stuff made from science fiction. However, electrode implants in the brain are already used in a number of people diagnosed with neurological disorders, such as epilepsy and Parkinson's, although the implants are not as complex as Musk imagines them to be.

One of the reasons why electrode implants have not yet been fully embraced is because the process is still considered dangerous. Those who have them in their brains used it as a last resort attempt and no other alternatives are left.

In a previous interview, Musk said that that neural lace will be an additional layer of human intelligence. He said that this is not a novel idea because people are not aware that they are already cyborgs interacting with and utilizing the power of machines.

The idea of the neural lace technology was first mentioned in a 2015 paper by a group of chemists and scientists. They called the technology mesh electronics and suggested that it can be injected into the brain with a needle.

With Musk's Neuralink, everything can become a possibility in a not so distant future soon.
