Microsoft's upcoming high-performance laptop computer, Surface Book 2, is expected to arrive this year. Nonetheless, as the production of Intel's 7th-generation Kaby Lake chip has not started yet, the Surface Book 2 release date could probably be delayed.

Several reports claimed that the Redmond, Washington-based tech titan might unveil the Surface Book 2 at its Spring 2017 event. Nevertheless, other reports suggest that the tech giant has apparently postponed the Microsoft Surface Book 2 release date, ZDNet reported.

Microsoft's highly anticipated Surface Book 2 is said to be the company's next-generation hybrid device. The Microsoft Surface Book 2 will come along with the latest Windows 10 Creators Update and the device will further be powered by the latest Intel Kaby Lake processors. In spite of that, as the production of Intel's Kaby Lake processors has reportedly not started yet, this could mean that the tech company might not launch the Surface Book 2 anytime soon.

On the contrary, the Microsoft Surface Book 2 might see daylight anytime soon. The tech giant is gearing up to offer a massive discount on its entry-level Surface Book model. Clearing out the shelves could indicate the company is about to unleash a new product, NEOWin. reported.

That being the case, the tech giant may feature a bumped-up display to the Microsoft Surface Book 2, thereby making the upcoming 2-in-1 PC compatible with 4K viewing. The Microsoft Surface Book 2 is also expected to have a virtual reality (VR) support. The Microsoft Surface Book 2 is said to come along with much better graphics, an improved Surface pen, and the Surface Book 2 will be the laptop worth waiting for.

Furthermore, tech fans and experts are anticipating the Microsoft Surface Book 2 to have a 13.5-inch display. The tech giant is said to roll out the Surface Book 2 with a $1,000 price tag. The shipments of the upcoming high-performance laptop are estimated to reach 1.2 to 1.5 million units.
