New HTC U handset powered by Qualcomm SnapDragon 835 has drawn the attention of many smartphone aficionados. The leak came out after a recent AnTuTu Benchmark Test result was captured and made its round on the internet suggesting that the latest HTC U model is about to launch right after Samsung Galaxy S8 is made available to the market.
Previously, Samsung has earned exclusive rights to go first hand with the SnapDragon 835 processors. This led HTC of subsiding its plans of releasing its older HTC U units with the alternative SnapDragon 821 which earned massive upset from HTC fans. The case is different now for the new HTC U, Tech Buffalo noted.
The latest HTC U phone will now boast SnapDragon 835 tier weeks after Samsung release its Galaxy S8 series. Since LG has sidestepped its interest for the said high-end processor, it will surely favor the fate of the next HTC U. According to Tech Buffalo, the said AnTuTu result shows that aside from Qualcomm's powerful processor, it will also host 4GB of RAM coupled with 64GB onboard storage and a 16-megapixel camera.
The said HTC U model will have the Android 7.1.1 Nougat straight from the box. It will sport a 2560×1440 Quad HD display while the front facing camera is 12-megapixel. Meanwhile, speculation for an earlier release date came up after several older HTC U models were made on sale in the United Arab Emirates for the GITEX Shopper Spring 2017. The HTC U Ultra is now on sale for Dh2499 (roughly $680) which includes a bundle of accessories worth Dh500 (roughly $136), Emirates 247 reported.
According to Slash Gear, the current HTC U debuted in January 2017 and is the follow-up tier to the highly successful HTC 10. The said HTC handset failed to impress expectations after launching without the SnapDragon 835, its slippery body and the lack of waterproofing amid the expensive price tag.
