NVIDIA Free Game Bundle Now Includes The GTX 1060; NVIDIA Ansel Technology Best GeForce Experience Feature Underutilized
ByThe NVIDIA free game bundle is now available for every purchase of the GTX 1060 from every participating retailer allowing mainstream users to have access to the "Prepare for Battle" bundle. However, the codes may only be redeemable via the GeForce experience which also offers NVIDIA's Ansel technology, which may be the best GeForce feature, but is not used often.
Previously, only the high-end NVIDIA graphics cards like the GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 are included in the "Prepare for Battle" bundle as NVIDIA throws in an added value to high-margin purchases. This has been the case until NVIDIA opens the free game bundle to mainstream users with the inclusion of the GTX 1060. The GeForce GTX 1060 is the fastest card of NVIDIA in the competitive market and throwing in a free game will entice more mainstream users to the NVIDIA GeForce Experience ecosystem, where the game codes can only be redeemed. This means that gamers cannot use the codes on UPlay directly but needs to download the GFE software.
Moreover, the NVIDIA free game bundle for GTX 1060 is available for both 3GB and 6GB models now in Newegg for $180 and $250 respectively. The free games are also available for those buying a PC or a laptop equipped with the NVIDIA cards from GTX 1060 and above, according to Anandtech. However, gamers are advised to make sure that their chosen retailers are participating in the said promotion in order to have access to "For Honor" or "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" for free. The promo ends on April 17.
Meanwhile, there are hidden super-screenshots in the NVIDIA free game bundle, which supports the NVIDIA Ansel technology. PC World considers the feature the best in GeForce but is not always used because the games do not clearly say it has it. Gamers only need to press Alt + F2 in-game to have access to a whole new world of gaming art, but this may not be advisable in multiplayer.
