Colony Reborn: Respawn To Make Its Biggest Salvo Ever, This Is 'Titanfall 2' At Its Extreme [VIDEO]
ByRespawn Entertainment's action-packed first-person shooter game's "Titanfall 2" is about to receive its next big DLC pack next week. The next big update will be called Colony Reborn and it will be free to all Titanfall players. Respawn this week provided more details on the Frontier News Network and also teased a new DLC trailer.
According to GameSpot, the latest "Titanfall 2" update will include the much-talked Colony map, which first introduced in the first Titanfall game. The Colony map will make its comeback on March 30, the date when the Reborn pack launches on all gaming platform. The next big DLC pack also includes a new gun called the R-101 Carbine, an assault rifle that comes wit a high rate of fire.
The R-101 Carbine has been a mainstay of human conflict since the first settlers arrived from the Core Systems, according to Respawn. But today, the platform is making a return to "Titanfall 2," but this time with a vengeance, bringing lots of power and terrible accuracy on board. The new R-101 will now be equipped with the dreaded ACOG scope for precise killing. The third and last of the free content in the big DLC pack is a new execution, Respawn called it the Curb Check.
Also this week, the game studio has released a new DLC trailer, teasing the upcoming Colony Reborn. The studio also announced a Free Trial weekend that will start on March 30 will run up to April 3. During the Free Trial weekend, Respawn will be giving a double XP weekend for newly signed users, which has able to level up quickly, and veterans looking for a bonus. In addition to the new map and new weapon, the update will also bring new skins, decals, callsigns and Titan paint jobs that players can purchase.
But the highlights of the next big DLC are the two new Titans, the Northstar Prime, and Legion Prime. Based on the newly released DLC trailer on Youtube, the Northstar Prime seems to be a more airborne variant, while the slower Titans, the Legion, holds a minigun specifically designed for taking out small targets. Northstar's special attack skills are said to have similarity to Pharah's ultimate attack from Blizzard's first-person shooter Overwatch.
Last month, Respawn released the Live Fire DLC that featured two bonus maps and a new game mode, called Live Fire. The new game mode is said to pit two teams of six each against one another in a series of 60-second rounds, where they compete to either destroy their enemies or to be the only team that holds a neutral flag at the end of those 60-second rounds.
