After investigating all the information circulating through the web, evidence shows that a Nexus device could make a comeback. Here's why!

Pixel is HTC-made Smartphone

There is indeed, a lack of HTC name in the Pixel promotion campaign and Google's rep told CNET that the company is partnering with multiple vendors to create the phone, thus, no HTC brand is seen.

As Google tries to convince consumers that the Pixel is 'Made by Google', Forbes learned that it was HTC that supplied the manpower to manufacture the devices. The reputable media outlet went on to say that the major difference between both, Nexus and Pixel is the Google's logo.

Pixel and Nexus similarities

With Nexus, it isn't just the Google software installed in it but the report claimed Google involved in the development, design and support. That being the case, the Pixel phone isn't anything different from Nexus except that the former is Google's signature phone - a flagship that takes on Apple iPhone and is tagged with a premium price.

The third Pixel 2 phone is still in question

Previously, a codename 'Taimen' has been making headlines as it is reportedly the third Pixel 2 that's not only big, but also budget-friendly.

According to reports, the display of the phone (or phablet) could go as big as 6 or 7 inches; but rumors and leaks don't seem to hint that it is actually a follow up for the first-gen Pixel. A piece of evidence obtained from 1RedDrop suggests that the XL size might not have a Pixel brand.

BGR report also corroborates the rumor, by stating that a new smartphone is under development stage but it doesn't belong to the Pixel family.

Will HTC make another Nexus phone?

Everything remains to be seen but it is safe to assume that a Nexus phone could be on the work since HTC is part of Google's manufacturing partners. Information is still scarce at the moment but in the next few weeks, more details of the phone's existence should surface on the internet.
