There are many phones looking to be christened the next “iPhone-Killer” and the latest player in the mix is Vivo. Another player from the Chinese smartphone segment, the Vivo Xplay 6 is an impressive device that comes with no frills but with advanced specifications that should be worth checking out.

While it does have its work cut out considering the successful debut of the Vivo Xplay 5, the new version has come with major improvements, according to Forbes. It is aesthetically pleasing capped by a curved 5.46-inch AMOLED 3D screen display, a front fingerprint sensor and something that runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 821.

Other notable specs of the Vivo Xplay 6 include 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of internal storage, Adreno 530 GPU, dual-SIM capable, a micro-USB, armed with quick charge technology, a 12 MP dual main camera, DAC, and a 4,080 mAh battery, according to Phone Radar. The standard Vivo Xplay 6 retails for about $655.

The Vivo Xplay 6 initially came out with gold and rose gold color variants but a new shade is set to join the mix with the matte black variant. Though it may seem dull for most, the old-school color should make it a universal choice for folks wanting a neutral color scheme, Xiaomi Today reported.

The black matter color variant of the Vivo Xplay6 is reportedly set to come out next week with reports that stocks are already ready and available. It will be interesting if these will last considering Xiaomi has produced controlled numbers which have resulted in shortages and hard-to-find devices with its line of smartphones.

The Vivo Xplay 6, regardless of color variant, should be an up and coming devices most will want to consider. Brand recall may be a must for some but for those who could care less, this device is packed with features that should offer more than what standard smartphones carry.
