The news about the 2017 iPads arriving in the coming weeks first came from a Taiwan-based supply chain, BGR reported. The big reveal is expected to happen during Apple's special keynote which may be in early April. Meanwhile, there are reports that Apple has moves the production of its new 10.5-inch iPad from May to an earlier date of March.
The new 10.5-inch iPad Pro will cater to business markets and to educational institutions. Apple is seen to sell some one million units of this model in March. The company is also expected to develop 1.2 million more units in the succeeding month.
Meanwhile, the iPad models that were being tested in Cupertino and other locations near the area confirms the rumor that Apple will release new iPad models this spring, Tech Crunch reported. According to information from leaked investor note that came from KGI Securities analuyst Ming Chi Kuo, Apple will update its 12.9-inch iPad Pro units.
The leak also reveals that Apple will narrow the bezel on its upcoming 10-inch or 10.5-inch models. Consumers can also opt for the 9.7-inch model, which is something more affordable than the rest.
Kuo said that two larger models will feature the A10X chip, which an A10 chip version that is in the iPhone 7. Meanwhile, the budget-friendly devices will have the A9 chip, which are in the iPhone 6s. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. will provide the A10X, while Samsung will provide the A9 chips.
