Although the latest Android Nougat firmware from Google is currently marking two percent of Android users, the company is hinting a new version of its operating system, which is codenamed as "Android O." However, news on the upcoming OS is spoiling its impressive features and updates.

Eight months ago, Google released its Android Nougat operating system, which brings improvements on user experience with features such as night mode, bundled notification, enhanced security update, improved battery optimization, and multi-window support. Now, Google is rumored to launch its next Android update, which will obviously start with "O" on its moniker. Coming from a source familiar with the latest update, Google's Android O firmware will integrate artificial intelligence and gesture triggers to improve functionality on users.

As told to Venture Beat, the source reported that Google's Android O is expected to add these three new features in its software. First on the feature rumored to be unveiled in the Android O is the "Copy Less" feature. The said feature will allow Android phones to automatically detect the relevant information to copy from a source when sending through text or email.

As noted by Venture Beat: "[If] you and a friend are having a conversation in a chat about where to eat dinner and you find a good restaurant in the Yelp app, when you go back to your conversation and type "it's at," one automatically generated suggestion in Gboard would be the restaurant's address."

Basically, the "Copy Less" feature will serve as an intelligent copy paste mode, which is similar to the logic on virtual keyboards, where users are given suggestions of often-used words depending on what they write.

Another rumored feature is a resident on Apple's iOS. The responsive text in Apple's messaging would be emulated on Android's software. This feature will give users the ability to tap on an address, phone number, or date in a message and open the respective apps automatically.

According to Android Pit, the third rumored feature is similar to LG's "Tap To Wake" and Huawei's "Knuckle 2.0" feature. Reports suggest that Google is working on gesture recognition to trigger actions. For example, drawing the "C" letter on the screen might bring users to a short list of their recent contacts.
