The Colorado Buffaloes (21) will try to recover from a tough loss to Washington Thursday night against the UCLA Bruins (25) and their high-powered offense.

In the first half of Colorado's Sunday matchup with Washington, the Buffaloes' leading scorer Spencer Dinwiddie tore his ACL, meaning his season is over. It was also the team's first Pac-12 loss.

Colorado's schedule also does not get any easier as they play the first of two games against UCLA, with two games against Arizona (1) remaining.

"They're hurting," coach Tad Boyle told Colorado's official website. "We've got great chemistry on this team. Guys care about each other. From that standpoint, the team's hurting.

"We're going to control what we can control, which is our attitude and effort every day in practice. That's all you can do in life."

UCLA, on the other hand, lost to Arizona in the two teams' only game against each other. Of the Bruins' remaining 15 games, two matchups against Colorado are the only games they play with a currently ranked opponent.

UCLA is among the top 10 in the country in average team points per game, assists per game and field goal percentage. They are also allowing an average of 70.8 points per game, about six points lower than Colorado's average output.

"They had a lot of pressure on them (Sunday) to win, and they executed well on both ends of the floor," UCLA coach Steve Alford told reporters, according to ESPN. "Our effort in practice has been incredible all year. They are a fun team to coach and effort has never been an issue."

UCLA's loss to Arizona is their only to a Pac-12 opponent and, aside from additional losses to Duke and Missouri, the Bruins have been dominant on offense, scoring at least 100 points three times this season.

Colorado is 2-2 against ranked teams, but UCLA is 0-2 in such games. Colorado's defense has averaged about two points less per game allowed than UCLA's has, so they will need every bit of defensive strength to contain the high-octane UCLA offense.
