The year 2017 had just bare begun and the gaming community already have been subjected to bad games. The following is the list of video game stinkers that unfortunately got released and bought by poor, unsuspecting people. All reviews are made by credible game critics such as Metacritic, IGN and Gamespot.
1. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Mega Battle (PlayStation 4)
The curse of TV and Movie licensed games hasn't been broken, especially with this one. The reasons why this is such a bad game floods the comment sections in every game critic site. Metacritic gives this game a spirit-crushing 49 points. The reviewers point out that the game mechanics is unwieldy and the cut scenes and boss battles are both boring and corny. Staying away from this game is the recommendation of many critics.
2. Double Dragon IV (PlayStation 4)
The game tries to bring nostalgia, but it just brought dated gaming design with bad taste. The 80s-side-scrolling beat-em-up game design wasn't a breath of fresh air for gamers of 2017, but a laughable peep in the "I don't believe they played this game before," mentality. IGN rates this game as awful at 3.5 and is among the worst rated game in first quarters of 2017.
3. Ride 2 (PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)
The last in this list is Ride 2 and it is a failed motorcycle racing game that is flat and broken. The game tries to capture the thrill and excitement of motorcycle racing yet the poor gameplay, an imbalanced reward system and a lot of loading screens. It tries to be a racing simulator but the only thing players are immersed is a lackluster bike game that doesn't really work. Aside from this the helmet cam option is a nauseating mess and is one of its worst features. Gamespot gives this game a dismal 4 and is among the lowest rated game by Gamespot this year.
