Do not drop your phone because you might scratch the case. Louis Vuitton manufactured an iPhone housing that is worth the price of seven Apple devices.

Dubbed as the "Eye-Trunk" leather line, it sports four hard corners and a latch to showcase the company's history as a luggage designer. Apparently, Louis Vuitton used golden crocodile skin for one of the iPhone cases. Most people, though, still opt to buy a plastic variant worth $15 only.

Louis Vuitton iPhone case: Prices

According to The Verge, Louis Vuitton cases are compatible with both the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus models. The prices range from $1,180 to a whopping $5,500 respectively. The former features a thick canvass with traditional patterns on it while the other thrives with the wild animal leather.

Given that only a few people could afford the new Louis Vuitton "Eye-Trunk", it feels like the product is a limited edition already. For the record, its price is equivalent to seven iPhone 7 models. Currently, the handset retails for about $649 for the 32GB variant.

Moreover, those who object the use of animal skin to produce bags and clothes may want to stay away for a while. In January, animal rights group PETA bought a stake in Louis Vuitton to pressure the company to stop using crocodile skin. Well, its share in the firm will allow it to attend shareholder meetings and question the board.

Will the iPhone 8 get the Louis Vuitton case?

According to Slash Gear, there is no Louis Vuitton case for the iPhone 8 as of now, which is actually a good news. For one thing, the upcoming iOS handset is worth $1,000. No one would even like to imagine the possible cost of the top-of-the-line case if ever it gets one.

On the other hand, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus models do not differ much from their predecessors in terms of size. Thus, older versions may also use the Louis Vuitton cases. Nevertheless, people on a tighter budget could go for the Monogram or Monogram Reverse cases. These are worth $1,180 to $1,250.
