Fans can preorder the smartphone starting March 10 on Lazada and Mi store, according to The Star.

Previously, the handset was on India's flash sales on March 8. The matte black price that started from Rs,9999 quickly went out of stock after a few minutes.

Android Nougat and MIUI 9 update

The newer series of Xiaomi smartphones are expected to get a Nougat update and Xiaomi latest custom skin version, MIUI 9. As a reminder, Xiaomi rolled out MIUI 8.2 ROM a few weeks ago, which means that MIUI 9 is not far. According to XiaomiAdvices, Mi 5 series, Mi Note Pro, and Mi Max are among the handsets pegged to receive Android Nougat. For the tablet lineup, Mi Pad 2 will reportedly get to taste the firmware soon.

However, Redmi Note 3 with MediaTek chipset will not be receiving the Android latest firmware.
