The OnePlus 3's successor continues to generate buzz as claims about its design, RAM and battery capacity circulate on the internet. Just recently, one of the phone's stunning color variants seems to have leaked online.

Serial leakster Evan Blass tweeted an image bearing the words "Never Settle" -- OnePlus' slogan. The picture appears to be a new wallpaper featuring dark and red colors.

David Ruddock of Android Police appears to confirm Blass' teaser. According to Ruddock's tweet, OnePlus will hold a "dark announcement" soon and it might be the OnePlus 4 in Midnight Black.

OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei replied to Ruddock's tweet with a GIF image of howling wolves, with the shadow of the full moon seen in the background. Does Pei's tweet confirm Blass and Ruddock's posts? Perhaps. Then again, it's also possible that the company will announce an already existing smartphone in a new Midnight Black model.

A Midnight Black model for the OnePlus 4 is similar to the Jet Black model of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. Apple's product sports a high-gloss finish but was criticized for its tendency to attract grime, grease and fingerprint smudges more than the average smartphone.

The downsides of the phone's high shine, however, can be avoided by using cases or wiping it with a cloth regularly. Users may not want to do the extra effort that the latter requires, though.

The OnePlus 4 is expected be powered by a whopping 4,000 mAh battery and 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM, Phone Arena reported. The handset's body will likely be made using ceramic, which is said to be stronger, harder and is better at resisting abrasions, thermal shock and high temperature.

There are claims that the Chinese company will avoid the number 4 for their next smartphone, though, because it is considered as unlucky in China. Instead, they will introduce their next smartphone under the name OnePlus 5.

Other rumors include a dual-edged screen, a 23 MP primary camera, a 16 MP front-facing snapper and a model with 256 GB storage, GSM Arena listed. However, it's important to remember that these are all speculations for now and an official announcement from OnePlus is yet to be had.

The OnePlus 3 comes with a 16 MP primary camera, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820, 6 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal storage, a 3,000 mAh battery and 5.5-inch display at 1080p Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels). The device starts selling at $399.
