As major tech companies like Samsung, Nokia and LG rolling out their own foldable devices, Microsoft is gearing up to launch its Surface Phone with a foldable concept. The highly anticipated Microsoft Surface Phone is said to be a great contender against Apple's iPhone 8.

The Redmond, Washington-based tech giant has always been under the radar when releasing its latest devices in the market. Nonetheless, the tech giant filed a patent in 2016 in the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for a mobile gadget with a flexible hinge structure. Basically, Microsoft is developing a foldable smartphone-sized screen, according to The Marshall Town.

The USPTO granted Microsoft's patent request in January 2017. Rumor has it that Microsoft's foldable Surface Phone will come in three variants. In spite of that, rumor has it that Microsoft's foldable Surface Phone could go head to head with top end devices, such as Google's Pixel XL and Apple's iPhone 8.

Nevertheless, the widely anticipated Microsoft Surface Phone is expected to change the concept of smartphones. The upcoming Microsoft Surface Phone would be a great rival against Apple. As the Cupertino based tech giant is currently facing tough competition, such as Samsung, Lenovo and Huawei, Microsoft will be Apple's strongest contender, Learn Bonds reported.

Microsoft has an edge over its competitors following Surface Pro, Surface Book and Surface Studio's arrival. Thus, tech enthusiasts are excited about the upcoming Microsoft Surface Phone.

That being the case, the Microsoft Surface Phone will reportedly come along with a 5.5 AMOLED display and the handset will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor. The Microsoft Surface Phone will be packed with a 4GB of RAM coupled with a 128GB storage capacity. The upcoming Microsoft device is said to boast a powerful 21MP rear facing camera and an 8MP front-facing shooter. The Microsoft Surface Phone is anticipated to have a price range from $699 up to $1,100.
