The iPhone 8 rumors start to reach boiling point as the handset's expected release date inches closer and closer.
Also known as the iPhone X, Apple allegedly installed the most radical design for an iOS device on iPhone 8 to date. Famous leaker Ming-Chi Kuo revealed some of the phone's design, size, screen area, core navigation, and new security features. Below are details you do not want to miss.
iPhone 8: One of 3 iPhone variants this 2017
Forbes quoted the world's largest financial newspaper, Nikkei, when it said that Apple will launch three models of iPhone this year. Two of these variants are expected to be an upgraded iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Moreover, the much-awaited iPhone 8 with OLED display tops the launching theories.
Allegedly measured at 5.8", the iPhone 8 appears to be the largest screen display in its segment. Apparently, Apple reduces the top and bottom bezels to make it look smaller than the iPhone 7 Plus. On the other hand, Nikkei actually reversed its first report and said that the upcoming phone will only feature 5" display.
Kuo answered this speculation and noted that the 5.8" iPhone 8 will most likely push through. However, the total area will not cater to the screen alone. The 5.8" phone size will also feature a 'function area' similar to the Touch Bar on the MacBook Pro. Thus, Apple might remove the iconic home button.
How much is the iPhone 8?
Various media outfits assert that the iPhone 8 will be the most expensive smartphone from Apple. Kuo noted that it is highly likely to reach and even exceed $1000. Still, a few people believe that the price is pretty much reasonable given the specs of the phone.
According to Mac World, the iPhone 8 will be powered by iOS 11 paired with an Apple A11 processor. Its lowest storage option is 64GB, which is expandable to an amazing 256GB. Fans speculate that the Lightning port may be replaced by the standard USB-C. However, other said that the handset will have a fast-charging feature via the existing Lightning port.
Moreover, a monstrous resolution density is set at 521p per inch. In the power supply department, the iPhone 8 might arrive with an unclear but major increase in battery capacity. Lastly, the Touch ID may now be joined by a new facial recognition security specification. Apple has not yet released any official statement to confirm these theories.
