The Kansas Jayhawks (18) have been streaky this season but will try to get their fifth win in the last six games against in-state rivals Kansas State Wildcats (25).

Kansas State has won 10 in a row after starting the season 2-3, whereas Kansas started 5-0 before losing three of four. With a win, they can get back on track and be 5-1 in their last six contests.

Jayhawks coach Bill Self downplayed the in-state rivalry between the two schools. However, the 16-0 Wichita State (6) is the school with basketball bragging rights in the state of Kansas.

"It speaks volumes to when you have three Division I schools in the state and they're all ranked," Self told reporters, according to ESPN. "I think when K-State's good it helps Kansas. I would think when Kansas is good it helps K-State. And then of course, I think when Wichita State is doing the things they're doing, obviously it brings attention to our state, which is very positive."

Kansas continues its tough schedule Saturday afternoon with the first of four consecutive games against ranked opponents and they have already played three. On the other hand, Kansas is the third ranked team Kansas State has seen this season.

For Kansas to play consistent basketball, they will need star freshman forward Andrew Wiggins to do the same. On the season, his field goal percentage (.439) his below the team's (.496). He is averaging 15.3 points per game and 31.4 minutes per game as well as 5.4 rebounds per game.

Wildcats coach Bruce Weber said he believes the Jayhawks lost some experience over last summer, but still play with a high level of talent.

"We are going to have to play a really good game," Weber told reporters, according to ESPN. "It takes discipline and it takes execution... You have to go make the next play and take it to them and see if you can get to the hoop. It is going to be a tough game, but we will learn a lot about our guys by 3 o'clock Saturday."
