During the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017, Samsung has released another flagship on its tablet portfolio, dubbed as Galaxy Tab S3. The successor of Note 10.1 will offer more productivity and will deliver multimedia functionality.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 draws attention on the Barcelona event with its high-end specs and functionality module. According to XDA Developers, the premium tablet features a 9.7″ QXGA Super AMOLED display, resulting to 2048 x 1536 resolution. The said display also includes an HDR playback support.

Under the hood, the Galaxy Tab S3 will be armed with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which is further expanded of up to 256 GB memory.

On the camera front, the premium tablet sports a 13-megapixel primary rear camera with f/1.9 and includes 4K video support. Up front, it sports a 5-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The tablet will also house a hefty 6,000 mAh battery, which will aid heavy users, alongside a four-speaker system that should provide a more immersive experience for movie watching.

In terms of software, the Galaxy Tab S3 will be running the latest Android 7.0 Nougat firmware, and will incorporate Google's multi-window mode with TouchWiz. A fingerprint reader is also embedded on its home button.

As a key selling point of the Tab S3, its new S Pen stylus added a bigger grip with its larger chassis. According to ExtremeTech, the "added size makes for a better feel and gives space for the addition of an erase button." The new rubber tip in the stylus also gives a better writing and natural feel for users.

The tablet includes a USB 3.1 (Type-C) port, together with other wireless connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 2X2 MIMO, Wi-Fi Direct, and Bluetooth 4.2. Other sensors consist of accelerometer, hall sensor, RGB sensor, fingerprint sensor, gyro sensor, and geometric sensor. Some of the in-house Samsung services that will be shipped in the Tab S3 are the Samsung Smart Switch, Samsung Notes, Air Command, and Samsung Flow.

As of this writing, Samsung has not released information on the Galaxy Tab S3's pricing and availability, although rumors suggest that it might be available at the end of March in the UK.
