As football recruitment season is ongoing, many are trying to figure out which team or university will get the most commitments from top players. The competition of who gets the best is as intense as the games happening in the field. This week, there are some exciting and surprising highlights in this college football recruiting rankings update.

One of the most notable events this week was when Mark Richt and his Miami Hurricanes were able to secure the commitment of Artur Sikowski, the four-star Bradenton IMG Academy quarterback. His commitment is the 12th pledge the Hurrricanes received in its Class of 2018. After his decision, Sikowski tweeted to his fans to "respect his decision." His commitment has placed Miami on the third spot with 12 commits and 1,316 points.

As the Hurricanes charged upwards, the University of Southern California's Trojans slid down to number four after four-star wide receiver Manuel Allen de-committed. At present, the Trojans have five commits and 1,180 points.

Another team whose rankings suffered this week was the Florida State Seminoles which went down from number five to number seven. Four-star running back Justin Watkins' de-commitment hurt the Seminoles pretty bad but hopefully, they will be able to cover that loss in the coming weeks.

Penn State's Nittany Lions is still at the top of the ranks with 11 commits and 1,562 points. It has added linebacker Jesse Luketa and five-star running back Ricky Slade in its roster. Meanwhile, Notre Dame's the Fighting Irish comes in at second with 11 commits and 1,408 points. It got its 11th commit just last Wednesday in four-star wide receiver Braden Lenzy from Tigard High School in Portland, Oregon.

On the fifth and sixth spots are the Tigers of Louisiana State University and Clemson. LSU has seven commits and 925 points while Clemson has five commits and 869 points.
