Every year, Apple Inc. unleashes major updates to its mobile operating system, the iOS platform. As 2017 marks the 10th anniversary of the operating system, the tech giant is expected to bring software updates that are in line with the latest devices, such as the highly anticipated iPhone 8.
The iOS 11 will be a significant step up of the features currently available, according to Value Walk. Apple's most important software product will pack a punch to the AI assistant Siri. The iOS 11 is slated to bear significant upgrades to Siri over its predecessor by including a Search by Typing feature.
Meanwhile, the enhanced 3D Touch feature is expected to be employed throughout the body of the forthcoming iPhone 8, which will replace physical buttons with pressure-sensitive ones. The 3D Touch technology in the iOS 11 update is said to roll out to Apple's most popular portable gaming device, iPod Touch. All iPod Touch 6th-Gen users will acquire the iOS 11 update, according to TapScape.
Rumor has it that the Cupertino based tech giant might launch a SnapChat-like video sharing app. This is Apple's way of integrating the mobile operating system with social network applications. Also, the iOS 11 will come along with Dark Mode, more customization, Multi-screen iPad support, Split-screen mode search. It has been said that the iOS 11 will bring new features such as improvements to car navigation and views of buildings.
That being said, the following devices expected to receive iOS 11 support are the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone SE, iPad Pro 9.7-inch, iPad Pro 12.9-inch, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad 4th Gen and iPad Mini 4. After an unveiling and the beta launch of the iOS 11 at WWDC on June 2017, the mobile operating system will almost certainly rolled out to the public in Sept. 2017.
