BioWare has some big news for the Mass effect fans. The Mass Effect developer has just announced that its Andromeda development team has been working on a day-one patch for the upcoming space adventure game "Mass Effect Andromeda." The game studio made the huge announcement on Twitter.

BioWare Announces Day-One Patch And Tease Game's Actual File Size

According to GameRant, BioWare is currently busy working on a patch for the upcoming "Mass Effect Andromeda." BioWare is getting the patch ready five days before the official launch of the game on March 21, thus making it more accessible for Mass Effect fans that will be getting early access period on March 16. The early access period has been created through a special promotion run by the gaming giant Electronic Arts.

Additionally, BioWare also announced on Twitter that its upcoming title "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will take up "at least 45, not more than 60" gigabytes of the hard drives of the PS4 and Xbox One consoles, while the PC version will take a whopping 55 gigabytes when installed.

This means only one thing for Mass Effect players- they need to have enough room for such massive game. Gamers are advised to clean their hard drive first before making any download. The sheer file size seems to be part of a larger gaming trend where games are getting bigger, as graphics get richer and gameplay improve.

The addition and introductions of some contents, including new galaxy, to explore would explain why the upcoming Andromeda game will take up more than one-tenth of the space of the Xbox One or PS4's hard drives.

Minimum System Requirements Revealed, New FrostBite Engine Introduced

In other Mass Effect story, BioWare this week has just confirmed the minimum specs required to run the much- awaited "Mass Effect Andromeda" on PC. BioWare has posted the technical information on Origin, confirming the minimum system requirements needed to get Andromeda running on PC.

The full details about the game's system requirements can be read at the UK-based online publication The Express.

In addition to the system requirements, BioWare has also announced that the new Mass Effect installment has finished development and has gone gold, which means the initial development is now in place. The announcement was made by lead designer Ian Frazier on his Twitter account, saying that a "Mass Effect: Andromeda" has gone gold.

For a starter, a game going 'gold' terms means that game development has now been finished and that retail versions are now being made ready for packaging and marketing.

Development of "Mass Effect: Andromeda" has first started after the release of "Mass Effect 3" in 2012. BioWare has officially announced the game on June 15, 2015, at the big E3 2015 event. Originally the new game was scheduled for 2016 release date, but the official release date has been moved to March 21, 2017, due to some technical reasons.

BioWare's "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is the most ambitious Mass Effect game ever made, where the company introduced new storylines along with new characters, new galaxy, new planets, new space vehicles, and new gameplay systems.

But the real highlight of the new Andromeda game is the introduction of the new FrostbiteTM game engine, an extremely powerful game engine that set to deliver a tremendous graphical leap jump from the traditional Mass Effect game (trilogy) to "Mass Effect: Andromeda."

The new Mass Effect has been developed built using EA DICE's innovative Frostbite 3 engine. Development is quite hard for BioWare because it required the game studio to construct all gaming systems, including tools and everything from scratch, as the Mass Effect series was originally built on Epic Games' Unreal Engine.

"Mass Effect Andromeda" will be releasing on March 21 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
