GTX 1080 Ti to Debut before AMD Vega? Why It's Not The Right Time to Reveal The Powerful GPU
ByGTX 1080 Ti will finally see the light of day. Nvidia has 'subtly' confirmed the launch date for the GPU by the label it used for a video in its website.
Nvidia has updated its page with a countdown and a message saying, "It's Almost Time for Ultimate GeForce", according to Gizmodo. The 'GTX1080Ti_countdown' label was apparently removed shortly after but a few fans managed to notice it.
Nvidia's press event is scheduled on Feb. 28 and it is expected to introduce the powerful GeForce GPU that is said to be much faster than Titan XP. It will reportedly be a single-card solution that meets 4K gaming demands.
Nvidia may have its own plan in releasing the GTX 1080 Ti on the said date in San Francisco but the fact that schedule coincides with AMD's Capcaisin and Cream event leaves the fans with a huge question mark.
Should you wait for AMD Vega?
AMD could introduce its powerful GPU, Vega 10-based graphics card - which gaming community has highly-anticipated. It could have a dual GPU setup or a completely brand new architecture that could entice more potential consumers, including those who plan to buy GTX 1080 Ti.
The talks on waiting for AMD Vega have been making rounds on the internet. Many would want to wait for both GPUs to launch, before finally decide which graphics cards to buy.
What could be worse, is that AMD could launch Vega 10 card in May, according to PCGamesn. That means - no matter how impressive the ultrafast superfast GDDR5X RAM performs, the feedbacks may have to wait until both cards specifications are laid bare on the table and potential buyers can compare them side by side.
