Street Fighter V: Fixes Loading Times With New Mod; Fighter And Agent Of The Illuminati Introduced
ByHaving a big issue with "Street Fighter V" load times, one enterprising modder took it upon himself to create a mod that virtually eliminates the game's load time from the select screen into the match almost instantly. How did he do it?
While "Street Fighter V" has been hit with allegations that the game was incomplete upon launch due to its lack of content, another factor that annoys fans of the game is its annoying load time. Fortunately, one Reddit user has had enough and created a game mod that virtually eliminated the games load time, Game Rant reported.
Reddit user TOOLASSISTED apparently created a mod pack that made loading times faster from the character screen, so much so that it flies directly into the match after selection of fighters. A user on Twitter asked what did the mod change. Based on TOOLASSISTED's response all he did was unlock the character select frame rate in "Street Fighter V" user interface.
He also released a video on YouTube demonstrating the power of the mod he created for "Street Fighter V." Following the video release, he explained that all he did was alter a single value. After unlocking the game, he dove into the character select UI frame rate and changed 60 FPS to 255 FPS.
With that simple explanation and with superb results, many surmised that the slow load times were intentional on Capcom's part. Clearly, the simple mod indicated that "Street Fighter V" is capable of loading faster but simply does not.
Some argue that the intentional wait time in "Street Fighter V" loading is to create a more level experience across platforms, according to Eurogamer. Others charge it to promote an "admire the graphics" mindset. Still, others question Capcom's motives.
Meanwhile, "Street Fighter V" next DLC will bring in a new fighter, Kolin. She is a conniving yet loyal agent of the Illuminati. Kolin is actually in "Street Fighter V" but as a non-playable character. With the coming DLC, Kolin, the Phantasm of Snow and Ice, joins Akuma in "Street Fighter V" February 28.
