Britney Spears' Unofficial Biopic Makes Fans Angry; How Lifetime Capitalized on Justin Timberlake Drama
ByOoops...Lifetime did it again! And this time, it's with Britney Spears' life. The cable channel once again created a biopic that is so far from the truth it made the fans really angry.
How The Internet Reacts To Britney Spears Biopic
A lot went down in Britney Spears' "Britney Ever After" biopic, a film project that did not get contribution or the stamp of approval from Britney Spears. Although Lifetime has nothing but good intentions but to immortalize Britney Spears in an artwork that fans would celebrate, "Leave Britney alone!" has been the slogan that's been spread by Britney Spears diehard when the biopic premiered in the US, Sydney Morning Herald reported.
"Britney Ever After" is one of the most highly awaited biopics of the year. But fans were left disappointed due to the inaccuracy of the events and scenes that just appeared underwhelming or the opposite.
According to fans, the biopic is a trainwreck and a huge embarrassment. One of the fans called out the cable company and pointed out that they created a movie that distorted the life that Britney Spears lived.
Even Sarah Michelle Gellar was offended and asked who gave the film a green light.
The film is cheap, which is a direct contradiction to the glamour that the Princess of Pop basked in. Australian actress Natasha Bassett was even ripped apart for portraying Britney Spears as lovesick young woman who wants nothing else in her life but to please ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake.
And much of the film's plots capitalized on the Justin Timberlake-Britney Spears break-up, which as Lifetime puts it, is the reason why Britney Spears went on a downward spiral.
What's Inside Britney Spears Unofficial Biopic?
There was the alleged sex tape between JT and Britney Spears, which was unfounded even until today. There was also the alleged cheating per Britney with choreographer Wade Robertson that eventually lead to her breakup with the person whom she thought was the one, E! Online reported.
The film also touched on the ridiculous and awkward dance off between Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears, which Us Weekly reported about in 2002. And everything went downhill for Britney Spears from there.
Again, the movie just capitalized on the love story and made exaggerations that it's the reason why Britney Spears lost it. When JT moved on with Cameron Diaz, Britney Spears couldn't handle it.
Lifetime has been notorious in creating biopics of superstars that angered fans. These include Whitney Houston and Aaliyah. If Lifetime wants to be in business in the next five years, they shouldn't dare make a biopic about Beyonce because the Beyhive will scream murder in cold blood.
