Rose McGowan Witnesses 'Knockout' Attack, Aids Elderly Victim
ByActress Rose McGowan has claimed that she witnessed a "knockout game" attack on an elderly man in Venice, Calif., on Thursday, the Examiner reported.
McGowan took to Twitter to express her rage after witnessing a 65-year-old man "get punched by an evil guy playing that g**damn knockout game." She said the attack left the man "bleeding from the ear."
The knockout game, which is gaining in popularity, involves teenagers sucker-punching unsuspecting strangers.
McGowan noted that the perpetrator was wearing a mask and riding on a skateboard. She said she attempted to chase after the attacker but he was "too fast." The elderly was walking with his dog when he was attacked.
The Daily Mail reported that the "Grindhouse" actress played the part of Good Samaritan and tended to the injured man and his pet.
"Called an ambulance for him. His little dog tried to protect. L," she tweeted.
When a fan asked animal lover McGowan whether she was able to look after the pup, she answered, "Of course!"
McGowan who is known for a role as a witch on the hit show "Charmed" said she wish she had her character Paige's powers during that incident.
Incidents associated with the knockout game" have been reported across the country, including New Jersey, New York and Illinois.
Chuck Williams, a youth violence expert, told CNN in an interview that the media and parents are to blame for the inception of this game and the "extreme aggression" displayed by the nation's youth.
"That's America. America loves violence and so do our kids," Williams said. "We market violence to our children and we wonder why they're violent. It's because we are."
