The Huawei Honor V9 smartphone is rumored to have an exclusive release date in China on Feb 21. However, a newer report claims that it will sell internationally as Honor 8 Pro.
Various media outfits said that the latter debuts on Feb 27 at the MWC 2017. If theories are true, then the Honor V9 would be the fourth installment in the Honor 8 series. Read on for more details.
Metal unibody design
The Honor V9 might feature a metal unibody design, according to BGR. Huawei is also expected to drop the Home button at the front panel. Moreover, the iconic fingerprint sensor will be placed on the back side of the new handset.
Meanwhile, an earlier teaser clip showed an intriguing background of ocean water. This only hints that the Honor V9 will be water resistant. Poised to be listed as a high-end mobile gadget, Huawei's main strength this year is its dual camera setup on the rear end. Apparently, the V9 - Honor 8 Pro if you will - sports a 12MP and 2MP back cams to provide DSLR-like images.
In the same manner, the Honor V9 has a 5.7" QHD display with 2560 x 1440 screen resolution. It runs a unique Kirin 960eight-core processor clocked at 2.4GHz. Additionally, the latest Huawei device arrives with two memory capabilities. One features a 4GB RAM plus 64GB storage and the other has a 6GB RAM plus 128GB storage.
Aside from the dual rear cameras, the Honor V9 boasts an 8MP selfie cam. Now, for the software, it thrives with an Android 7.0 Nougat with Huawei's own Emotion UI 5.0 layered on top. Per BGR, a Russian website hinted that the Honor Pro 8 will retail in March.
WiFi, USB & Bluetooth Specs
Ubergizmo reported that the Honor V9 will be packed with a sizeable 3,900mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, it will have dual-SIM and 4G LTE. It is WiFi ready with a 4.2 Bluetooth model. Also, the much-loved USB Type-C and GPS sensor are available in the V9.
Unfortunately, information about the price, color, and availability of the phone is still unknown this time. For the record, companies do release exclusive products from time to time. A good example is the recent Chinese release date of the Nokia 6 from HMD Global.
