Fireworks weren't the only thing lighting up the sky in northern California on New Year's Eve. Many people reported seeing mysterious flying objects, KPLC-TV reported.
Witnesses from all across California, including Stockton, Sacramento and Auburn, said they saw strange lights in the sky that had nothing to do with fireworks, the Inquisitr reported.
Kaye Pinlac of Stockton told ABC News she saw multiple floating objects.
"I seen like six bright orange colored lights. They were almost like in a diamond or triangle shape. It was weird. And so they started just separating," she said.
Steve Brown told News 10 he watched the glowing object hover over Sacramento.
"Well, we saw it right through the trees," he said. "It was bright enough to shine directly through the trees without any problem seeing it."
Hans Mauth told reporters she spotted one over Auburn.
"It kind of approached from over in that direction and came across kind of slow," Mauth said.
According to the Inquisitr, UFO sightings were not just seen in California. There are reports of similar sightings in North Carolina.
Despite a multiple reports of these sightings, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor claims that there were no reports of UFOs.
"There was no unusual flight activity reported Tuesday night," Gregor told ABC News.
According to ABC News, reports of these sightings came a few days after the discovery of a crop circle in Salinas, Calif., "which also sparked speculation that were UFO related."
