MCU Phase 3 Hype Continues; 'Thor: Ragnarok' Concept Art Shows New Villain & Planet Hulk [VIDEO]
ByMarvel Studios is definitely on a roll this 2017! With Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe kicking off superbly last year with "Captain America: Civil War" and "Doctor Strange," it's no surprise for the hype to continue on the next three films in their roster this year; and now, even more with a newly released "Thor: Ragnarok" concept art.
On Valentine's Day, the digital HD version of "Doctor Strange" was finally released; and with it is a new "Thor: Ragnarok" concept art that shows Cate Blanchett as the villain Hela, as reported on ComicBookMovie. Planet Hulk was also shown, where Thor and the Incredible Hulk pitted against each other in a gladiator-like tournament. In the comics, Hela is Asgard's Goddess of Death and a supervillainess who is frequently pitted against Thor. She is also based on a Norse goddess - Hel, Loki's daughter - who was appointed by Odin to rule over a place in Niflheim with the same name as her.
Meanwhile, Planet Hulk is something that fans are clamoring for a while now. However, it is also something that Marvel Studios cannot grant as of the moment, according to Den of Geek. In the comics, it was a place where the Incredible Hulk ended up when he was exiled. After being enslaved by aliens who currently live on the said planet and becoming a gladiator there, he went on to conquer the said world.
