Playground Games, the developer of the widely popular racing game "Forza Horizon 3," is reportedly working on another game. Reports said that the developer plans to offer a new studio very soon and work on a non-racing open world video game.
Forza Developers Explore A New World
According to GameSpot, Playground Games is currently looking to nearly double its current headcount to around 200 people to work on a game, whose codenamed is "Project 2."
In a recent interview with Game Industry, founder and creative director Ralph Fulton said the company love to prove themselves in a different genre and that the company will hire some very talented people with experience for the said project.
Fulton also talked more about the Forza business, claiming that racing game remains the cornerstone of its business and will not be going away from racing. Fulton added that the company will continue to make new racing games and delivering a new gaming experience to its players.
Currently, the game developer has made three Forza Horizon games but no other full titles since its inception in 2010. For now, It's still unclear what the developer's plans for Project 2 are, but the director said that the Forza team have no plans to leave the Forza game completely.
"Forza Horizon 3," which has been released last year, has already received positive reception and reviews from its audiences. The open world racing game is still going strong, adding seven new cars to its roster for this year.
