"Lucifer" season 3 renewal is finally confirmed! Another season of the devil is yet to come and with more episodes than the first season.
'Lucifer' Renewal To Have More Episodes Than Season 1
According to TV Guide, FOX has released its official announcement for Lucifer's early renewal. Based on its press release, the series "is one of those rare shows that starts strong out of the gate" and from then on, as the story continuous, it is getting better and better.
"Tom, Lauren [German] and the entire cast have really made these characters three-dimensional," says David Madden, FOX entertainment president.
Aside from this positive feedback from Madden, "Lucifer" third installment will also have more episodes that its first season. Currently, the third part will have 22 episodes, same as the second season.
On a different note, Lucifer Morningstar is based on Vertigo characters, Den of Geek reported. It is created by Sam Keith, Neil Gaiman, and Mike Dringenberg.
What Is In Store For Lucifer?
For starters, in season 1, viewers was able to have a glimpse of Lucifer Morningstar's life as a devil living on earth. He was summoned by Amenadiel to return to hell but he is determined to get a fun life with the humans. Here, he get to meet Chloe Decker and her colleagues and of course, her daughter. He solves cases using his ability and unknowingly helps people which is not a usual job of a devil.
In season 2, Lucifer's mom appears in front of him. Charlotte comes to her sons' lives to get them back and to somewhat use them against her husband. She along with Maze and Amenadiel, then causes problems to the devil's life as they all hide the truth about Chloe's real identity. This leads Lucifer to leave Los Angeles and plots his revenge to those who wronged him.
As for "Lucifer" season 3 renewal, Lucifer Writers Room seems to hint something when they retweeted a fan theory that suggests a new character, Azriel. If season 2 will not pull off this plot, there is a chance that maybe this speculation could happen in the third installment.
This story arc for season 3 is purely a suggestion of the fan. There has been no confirmation about this, however, with the third installment having more episodes, introducing another character is not a bad idea at all.
"Lucifer" season 2 returns in May.
