Sony 'Pikachu' Smartphone Spotted in GFXBench

Sony is expected to unveil five new smartphones at the upcoming Mobile World Congress on Feb. 26, and one of these smartphones is the "Pikachu" smartphone, which was recently spotted in GFXBench where some of its specs were revealed. For this reason, rumors suggest that this could be the most awaited Sony Xperia XZ successor; however, it appears that it's a different smartphone with code number G3112 that runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.

Some of Sony Pikachu's specs revealed includes a 5-inch screen size with 1280 x 720 pixels display resolution and MediaTek Helio P20 MT6757 octa-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz. In addition, GSM Arena reported that the smartphone includes a 3GB of RAM, internal storage capacity of 32GB, a 21MP rear camera and 8MP selfie snapper.

What to Expect from Sony in MWC 2017?

Despite the fact that Sony is struggling from its smartphone business, that doesn't stop the Japanese tech firm from releasing new devices in the yearly MWC event. In fact, according to The Indian Express, the commpany has already confirmed its media event for this year's technology expo.

Aside from Sony G3112 (Pikachu) phone, Sony is also expected to unveil the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, which is said to sport a 4K resolution display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. Another one is the phone with code name "Keyaki" which is expected to sport a 5.2-inch full HD display, 4GB of RAM, 64GB internal storage, MediaTek Helio P20 and whopping 23MP camera.
