"Prison Break" 2017 returns with a shorter season. Adding on, aside from the official poster, season 5 cast also revealed few details about the upcoming comeback.

'Prison Break' 2017 Premieres With Short Episodes

Wentworth Miller's "Prison Break" is indeed one of the most anticipated revivals this year. It is expected that old fans of the series are all set to get another dose of this show. Not to mention, with all the promotion as well as speculations and spoilers surfacing around the net, a lot of TV geeks become so intrigued with the story, creating a new group of fans.

However, though the show gains old and new viewers, it is said that "Prison Break" is still airing a short season. Instead of producing 10 episodes, which was the original plan, the cast and crew decided to cut it down to nine.

According to Digital Spy, the "Prison Break" 2017 has still possibilities to bring few more chapters on its filming list. The decision will come after the responses of the fans.

Miller told the site that the additional episodes depend on "how it's received, and who's available". There is a high possibility that if the show passes the viewer's taste, new episodes will come on our way. However, the catch is, there is no assurance that the returning cast in season 5 will still be appearing in the additional episodes.

The reason behind the cut down of episodes is due to conflict of schedules. Meaning, if the response is good but the lead or even the supporting characters are too busy to pull off another filming stint for "Prison Break", either they will not appear or no additional episodes for season 5.

'Prison Break' Poster Plus Season 5 Details: What We Gather So Far

As per the aforementioned source, the characters especially Michael Scofield (Miller) have undergone big changes. It has been years, and with the new twist and turns of events in "Prison Break" 2017, a lot of things happened with Michael as well as with those people around him.

However, Miller noted that along with these changes, there are still familiar things that fans would notice. Even after seven years, fans "can expect a lot more of the same things that you loved the first time around."

On the other hand, FOX (via Entertainment Weekly) has revealed the official poster for the series. The poster has Miller and Dominic Purcell's faces with a tagline: "First, it was a prison. Now, it's a nation."
