The high demand for the Nintendo NES Classic Edition as several stores (both online and in-store) re-stocked on the item last Friday.
I4DU reported that at least three sellers still have the NES re-issue in-stock: Amazon, Target, and Walmart.
There are around two dozen NES Classic available online over at Amazon, with prices ranging from about $100 to $130 (plus shipping) as of Friday night.
Meanwhile, two of Target's outlets in California have stocks of the NES Classic. The Culver City Target store has six pieces available while the Hawthorne branch have three of the consoles sitting on their shelves.
Lastly, I4DU reported that Walmart stores still have the Nintendo NES Classic Edition in-stock as well, but the inventory was starting to go yellow with around 10% left. It also mentioned GameStop, Best Buy and ToysRUs still having no re-stock as of this time.
Meanwhile, GameRant reported that the hackers have discovered a way to install the RetroArch emulation software on the NES Classic allowing gamers to play Game Boy, Super Nintendo (SNES) and Sega Genesis games on the device. This is only going to create even bigger interest on the said console.
The Nintendo re-issue launched towards the end of November last year, and immediately sold out on Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and other retailers making it a major hit during the holiday season.
The console has sold around 1.5 million units as of February 2017, and the number is projected to go higher. In fact, the demand has been so high that Nintendo has been chided by some fans for not having adequate stocks or not re-stocking stores much quicker.
Reseller prices range from $60 to as high as $300, and buyers get the mini version of the classic console plus 30 classic NES games including Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Pac-Man and Kirby's Adventure.
