Rutgers University is collaborating with County College of Morris (CCM) to offer baccalaureate degrees at CCM's campuses in Randolph and Morristown, beginning this fall semester. The two schools have g a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Dec. 17.

"The partnership between CCM and Rutgers will expand opportunities for Northern New Jersey residents to complete a bachelor of arts or a bachelor of science degree through Rutgers, while making CCM a more comprehensive destination for lifelong learning and professional development," a CCM statement said.

CCM graduates and students with associate degrees will be able to enrol in Rutgers University-Newark majors in psychology, journalism, criminal justice, graphic design and public and non-profit administration, while staying in Morris County. Additional majors are also expected to be added in the future.

"We at County College of Morris are delighted to enter into this partnership with Rutgers," President Edward J. Yaw said in a statement. "The agreement will allow us to serve Morris County and Northern New Jersey in an even greater capacity. We are happy to give the region's residents the ability to receive Rutgers baccalaureate degrees at CCM in the five initial areas, and are excited to expand into additional majors in the future."

Through the partnership, CCM officials hope to provide better academic opportunities to the growing workforce in the community.

Richard Edwards, executive vice president at Rutgers, is excited about the partnership as it will help CCM students and Morris County residents achieve their dreams of a higher education.

"Rutgers' off-campus programs at CCM will give students more flexibility to balance family and work obligations while studying closer to home," Edwards told Daily Record.

Previously, Rutgers established similar partnerships with Atlantic Cape Community College, Brookdale Community College, Mercer Community College and Raritan Valley Community College
