‘The Walking Dead: A New Frontier Episode 3’ Protagonist Clementine Appearing On TV Show Possible
ByPlayers will get their hands on the third season of Telltale Games' "The Walking Dead: A New Frontier" soon. The developer will release "Episode 3 - Above the Law" in late March on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and mobile devices.
Season 3, which is set some years after Season 2, will feature series protagonist Clementine as a playable character again, though the young girl's return is only in flashbacks. A new playable character named Javier is joining her and though they come from contrasting backgrounds, they will team-up to protect their loved ones.
Javier is a former professional baseball player who travels the undead-infested world with his brother's second wife and her wary stepchildren. "The Walking Dead: A New Frontier" executive producer Kevin Boyle said that Javier will discover "the mystery of who Clementine has become, as her story intersects with his -- both of them still driven by the things they value most long after society's collapse," GameSpot reported.
"The Walking Dead: A New Frontier" Season Pass Disc's release date is also imminent. The games will hit store shelves in North America on Feb. 28 and Europe on March 3. It is playable on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The Season Pass Disc contains the first two episodes ("Ties That Bind: Part One" and "Ties That Bind: Part Two") of Season 3. Players also have access to Season 3's remaining three episodes once those roll out. Saves from Season 2 can be imported to Season 3, with transferring between different platforms also possible.
Though "The Walking Dead: A New Frontier" differs from its TV show counterpart on AMC, fans are still wondering whether or not the two entities will blend in together sometime in the future. There are questions if it's possible to introduce Clementine to live-action.
"The Walking Dead" comic book editor Sean Mackiewicz said that the game's third season occurs "during the time jump after 'TWD' #126," meaning "a lot could happen" before Clementine appeared. Mackiewicz isn't sure whether a live-action appearance will be pursued or not, but he knows that "it takes time to write those things," Cinema Blend reported.
In the game, Clementine already met up with one of the TV show's fan-favorite characters, Jesus, so the possibility of her appearing in live-action is there.
Clementine is a likable character what with her sympathetic, brave, thoughtful and badass persona. And though AMC's "The Walking Dead" has introduced young people over the years, no one came close to the fan appreciation that Clementine amassed.
