This year's top five man crushes list is a mix of gentlemen I admire and gentlemen whom I believe deserve and captured the country's admiration over this calendar year. Let's get to the list:

5. Ryan Seacrest: Let's start this list off light -- really light -- with Ryan Seacrest, usually the crush of women rather than men. Seacrest, however, did something semi-special this year by co-founding the Typo Keyboard, designed to relieve Hollywood moguls forced to carry one phone for volume typing (not an iPhone) and another for internet browsing and all other uses (iPhone). The device easily straps around one's iPhone, providing a flip-phone like keyboard while also adding treasured screen space previously occupied by a frustrating, touch screen key pad.

3. Paul Walker: At least Walker's unexpected death highlighted his underrated acting career. Before mentioning "Fast and the Furious", Walker's ability to play a high school student (usually a jock-y jerk) may be unparalleled, as demonstrated in "Varsity Blues," "Pleasantville," and "She's All That." Something about his All American voice triggered images of high school as it was in the 90's, which may have been why he was so instantly disliked by a member of Vin Diesel's crew in the first "Fast and the Furious." Speaking of the movie that's now in its seventh sequel, the original is frequently tossed aside by movie buffs seeking more artsy material, but there is a certain level of craft in that film many seem to miss. Subsequent versions may not be worthy of critical acclaim, but I've always believed the first one was. Walker's casting in the lead role was one reason.
