The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is expected to come with an S-Pen stylus and curved display, which could give the device the EDGE UX features to access several device-wide functions. Moreover, there is also an indication that the newest tablet may come with a Book Cover case and a Keyboard Folio, which suggest a work-and-play device that could rival the Surface and iPad Pro.

The press invite by Samsung for MWC 2017 keynote event hinted the arrival of a big device with sloping edge-to-edge display. The South Koreans may not be bringing its latest flagship device, the Samsung Galaxy S8, but it will feature the third-generation Tab S tablet lineup instead.

Galaxy Tab S3 Design

Following the tradition set by previous iterations, there may be two variants of the S3 unveiled this year. It is one and the same device with the only difference in the size of the display. The Tab S3 will have an 8-inch and a 9.6 or 9.7-inch display.

It will naturally have the SUPER AMOLED with 1536x2048 resolution. It will also have the same screen aspect ratio of 4:3 seen in previous iterations.

Recent renders show the absence of a home button, which indicates that the fingerprint scanner may be embedded in the hardware home button, a standard design for all Samsung devices. The tablet will also have the USB Type Port-C, Phone Arena reported.

Galaxy Tab S3 New Features

The most interesting feature of the tablet is its curved display, a feature once exclusive only to the Galaxy S lineup. With this addition, the S3 may also have the EDGE UX features seen in the Galaxy S7 Edge where the edge panels act as a shortcut to several device-wide functions including apps and info feeds. The tablet is also set to have Android Nougat out-of-the-box.

The latest report now says that the newest tablet will have the S-Pen stylus, a feature copied from the Note 7, but this time it comes as a separate accessory. With this latest feature, Samsung may intend to make the Tab S3 work for business and personal use. Add the chance of getting a Book Cover case and Keyboard Folio, the tablet is tipped to rival the Surface and iPad Pro, according to the Android Community.

Galaxy Tab S3 Hardware

The tablet is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 with 4GB of RAM and 32 or 128GB of internal storage with micro SD. It also comes with a 5870 mAh battery capacity.

The Galaxy Tab S3 will be unveiled at MWC 2017. However, the tablet will be sold first in South Korea in March before it goes stateside.
