Google's Killer Dress Design App 'Coded Couture' To Get A Release Date Later This Year [VIDEO]
ByThe fashion industry is getting some big lift today. Google is teaming up with Ivyrevel to build an Android app that will that create a custom dress on the user's physical activity, location, and behavior data. The search giant made the huge announcement this week.
Google To Launch Coded Couture App
According to TechCrunch, the Redmond-based search company has teamed up with Ivyrevel, an online-only women's fashion brand with financial backing from fashion brand H&M. The company is reportedly working on a project dubbed as "Coded Couture" app, which said to use those sensors in the user's phone in order to design a custom dress based on the user's personal data.
As mentioned earlier by TechCrunch, the custom dress design changes over time in response to the latest activity and is finalized after user input. The collected data will be available to the mobile app through the Awareness API.
Google first introduced the new Awareness API at the recent 2016 Google I/O event. This piece of technology will allow developers to build much smarter applications that could understand everything about the users, including his location, behavior data and more, and even come up with intelligent reaction about the user's current situation.
In addition to the Awareness API, the app also used the Snapshot API to monitor the person's daily activity and lifestyle. The collected data is being used to create a custom design dress that can be bought by the user using the Android mobile app.
Release Date And Availability
The Android app is currently in the closed alpha stage but will be open to everyone later this year. Currently, it being tested by a few selected person, but people can still sign up for future trial series of the Android app.
Jeremy Brook, Google Group creative business partner, recently wrote in a Google blog post that Ivyrevel cofounder Kenza Zouiten has been testing the Android app along with select global style influencers.
Interested users can now sign up in the Coded Couture official website to join a later trial ahead of the official public release. Pricing for the custom dress will start at $99. The Coded Couture app will release later this year.
