Owners of the unlocked Moto Z in the US gets the Android Nougat update this February, which is a fulfilment of Motorola's promise of an early roll out of the Moto Z Nougat. Plus, the advanced smartphone notification Edge Mod has started its 24 hour count down since yesterday. Edge is a Moto Mod concept that helps users enhance their Moto Z smartphones more conveniently.
Motorola has now rolled out its Android 7.0 Nougat version for the unlocked Moto Z in the US, Android Authority reported. One of the major reasons for the long wait was that the Moto Z was sold at an earlier month before the Verizon versions, which means they have different software teams and software tracks. This leads to users getting updates at different times.
Edge Mod Benefits
Edge is a new Moto Mod concept that improves Moto Z smartphones with wide range of notification and customization options. It will now be available for the Moto Z users providing wireless charging and efficient battery power, Mod My Edge website announced. The new Edge Moto Mod brings a built-in multi LED system to the Moto Z smartphones.
Its wireless charging feature simply lets the user put their smartphone over a charging pad without the use of cables or wires and charging happens automatically. Edge is compatible for smartphones that has Moto Mods, like Moto Z Force, Moto Z Play, and Moto Z.
US Release Moto Z Nougat
US users of the unlocked Moto Z were disappointed when Motorola released the Android 7.0 Nougat update last year only to the Verizon versions of the Moto Z Droid and the Moto Z Droid Force. Meanwhile, unlocked Moto Z devices in other countries also got the Android Nougat update during those times. Motorola is keeping to its promise of a February release of the Android Nougat update as it has started to roll out the Moto Z Nougat.
