LG is expected to release the LG Watch Sport come February 8.

The LG Watch Sport, along with another smartwatch called the LG Watch Style will be released in the middle of this week.

The two smartwatches will be introduced on February 8, and formally launched on Friday, according to a report from Phone Arena.

Google's Android Wear 2.0 is also expected to be launched together with the LG smartwatches.

"Two new smartwatches that LG has made in collaboration with Google will be released alongside Android Wear 2.0," it said.

The two smartwatches' reported release date was previously mentioned as being February 9.

The LG Watch Style is said to be priced at $249, while the LG Watch Sport is more expensive at $349.

Regarding the make of the two new smartwatches, 9to5Google reported that, "The LG Watch Sport will be the bigger and more rugged of the two watches and is rumored to come with cellular connectivity."

Phone Arena added that aside from its capability to place calls independently, the LG Watch Sport comes with a heart rate monitor, GPS and NFC.

As for other specifications of the watch, the LG Watch Sport is powered by an unknown 1.09GHz quad-core CPU according to the Phone Arena report.

The watch also has 768MB of RAM, a 1.38-inch 480x480 resolution display, 4GB onboard storage and 430mAh battery.

"The listing of Android 7.1.1 under operating system no doubt stands for Android Wear 2.0," Phone Arena noted.

The LG Watch Sport scored a single core test result of 273 with a multi-core score of 418, it ended.

"The (LG Watch) Style will be the smaller... featuring a 42mm watchface but will only be able to use Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to receive data," 9to5Google said.

As for certifications, the LG Watch Style has an IP67 certification rating while the LG Watch Sport has an IP68 certification rating, according to Phone Arena.

9to5Google mentioned that both watches have a physical button that is said to act as a digital crown for interface navigation. It will also be used for the built-in Google Assistant.
