The Android Wear 2.0's delayed release might come to in the middle of this week, according to a report.

Ubergizmo reported today that the Android Wear 2.0, along with two new LG smartwatches - the LG Watch Style and the Watch Sport - will be launched on February 8.

"Two new smartwatches that LG has made in collaboration with Google will be released alongside Android Wear 2.0," it said.

The two smartwatches' reported release date was previously mentioned as being February 9.

Regarding the make of the two new smartwatches, 9to5Google reported that, "The LG Watch Sport will be the bigger and more rugged of the two watches and is rumored to come with cellular connectivity."

"The Style will be the smaller... featuring a 42mm watchface but will only be able to use Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to receive data," it added.

9to5Google mentioned that both watches have a physical button that is said to act as a digital crown for interface navigation. It will also be used for the built-in Google Assistant.

On the other hand, the Android Wear 2.0 was supposed to launch back in 2016. However, Google decided to postpone it to an undisclosed early 2017 release date instead.

"The company wanted more time to polish the (Android Wear 2.0) update before sending it out to the public," Ubergizmo said regarding Android Wear 2.0's delayed release.

According to 9to5Google, the Android Wear 2.0 update is going to make smartwatches independent from smartphones.

"This means standalone apps with the addition of its own Google Play Store do more over Wi-Fi and cellular radios," it said.

"(The Android Wear 2.0 update provides) a complete redesign of its user interface," 9to5Google added.

Ubergizmo mentioned that neither Google nor LG has confirmed the reported February 8 launch of the Android Wear 2.0 and the LG Watch Style and the Watch Sport, although it is expecting that either or both companies will make an official announcement soon.
