Android 7.1.2 Nougat update has been rolled out to Nexus 5X and it did a lot - way much more than previously expected. The update fixed bugs and did enhancements. The effect it had for Nexus 5X brought improvements that haven't been outlined much and as a result, Nexus 5X benefitted more than anticipated which brings makes it comparable to Google Pixel smartphones.

Essential Updates for Nexus 5X

Google Assistant will arrive in Nexus 5X. This is one of the updates that the mobile device will receive due to the Android 7.1.2 Nougat update. This feature is exclusive only to Google Pixel and Pixel XL phones but it seems like 5X users will be enjoying it very soon as well, Phone Arena reported. According to the same report, both Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P will have a Google Assistant.

This news has been confirmed by Sascha Pruter, Google's Android TV Director. However, the release date for the Google Assistant on Nexus hasn't been revealed yet. But one thing's for sure, this new feature will come with the next update. Whether or not she was talking about Android 7.1.2 Nougat, or Android 8 or Android O, no one really knows yet.

The Nexus 5X now has fingerprint gestures and users can finally enjoy it just as much as the Pixel users can. For users to make use of the new feature all they need to do is go to settings then navigate to moves and they will find the option which says 'swipe for notification'. Other than that there's the jump to camera, flip camera, and lift to check phone, Droid Men reported.

Will It Appear On 6P?

While there are still no leaked images for Huawei's Nexus 6P phone, it is expected that it will also carry the update that Nexus 5X has right now. The 6P will also carry the same fingerprint scanner like the LG Nexus 5X. More of these update will be unfolded next week so stay tuned.
