According to Entertainment Weekly, Annalise (Viola Davis) was denied bail and consequently sent back to jail, while Bonnie (Liza Weil) discovered details that points to Sam's (Tom Verica) aggravated sister Hannah (Marcia Gay Harden) and her possible involvement in the frame job. Now, Frank (Charlie Weber) confessed to Wes' murder by the episode's end. It is indeed a little confusing.
In a interview with executive produced Pete Nowalk, he said that of course the show wants to leave the question in viewers' minds. Is Frank telling the truth or maybe he just wants to protect Annalise?

Now, all these events would likely complicate Laurel and Frank's relationship even more. Remember when she said that Frank should have died instead of Wes? Nowalk said he doesn't think she is safe. Is anyone ever really safe in prison? Maybe Annalise doesn't want anyone to know who she is, but for the time being, her roommate Jasmine (L. Scott Caldwell) has already seen her in court. She might be scared of the police and the other prisoners. Chances are, she just wants to get out of there. It would be excting to see how she navigates all that.
Finally, who really killed Wes?
Per Variety, Nowalk said they wrote the finale and are currently shooting it, so he really can't change his mind anymore. He's hoping that people are intrigued.
