Apple Watch Latest Update: watchOS 3.2 Beta Version Brings Theater Mode And SiriKit, Making Apple Watch More Considerate [VIDEO]
ByApple Inc. has introduced the watchOS 3.2 beta version software to developers. The beta version software lets the developers take advantage of new features that the tech company will eventually dish out to all Apple Watch users. The beta version of the watchOS 3.2 software brings the Theater Mode and SiriKit features.
Theater Mode is the ability to shut off the screen of the Apple Watch and prevent the device from waking even when the user raise their wrist. The Theater Mode feature is different from the Do Not Disturb option that's been provided on Apple's smartwatch since the beginning.
The Do Not Disturb feature on the Apple Watch prevents all notifications from popping up, but the display will still light up when the user will move their wrist around. In Theater Mode, the smartwatch won't light up unless the Apple Watch user will physically press on it, CNET reported.
Meanwhile, the SiriKit feature on the Apple Watch will be able to let the smartwatch user to do things such as book a ride from their watch, send or cancel payments, as well as send text messages. Other third-party apps that will utilize the Siri feature on the smartwatch include calling apps, apps for searching photos and workout apps, according to Apple Insider.
Nonetheless, in order to install the watchOS 3.2, the software requires an iPhone running iOS 10 and will only be up for grabs to developers. As there is no way to downgrade the watchOS on an Apple Watch, the Cupertino based tech giant does not make the watchOS betas available to the public. While only the developers are allowed to the watchOS 3.2 software right now, the software should reach Apple Watch users soon.
That being said, the tech giant has been working hard at making the Apple Watch a viable health device, Apple is also isn't immune to the issues that its competitors face.
