Colorado Mesa University is popular for its athletic teams known as the Mavericks; the one with the mascot symbolized by a rearing bull's head with flaring nostrils. They have 21 varsity teams that compete in NCAA Division II athletics, which is why the university really draws a lot of aspiring athletes, even the ones who come from foreign countries.

According to the official website of Colorado Mesa, the university offers opportunities for a total of 660 student-athletes to earn a degree while they compete at a top Division II institution, which sounds very lucrative for those who have big dreams of achieving success in the field of athletics. They take pride in their strong winning tradition as a member of NCAA Division II, and welcomes international students.

However, even if Colorado Mesa is one of the most affordable universities in Colorado, the costs might just add up, according to The Daily Sentinel. If you are from another country and wish to gain admission in the university, you need to show a proof a financial support of at least $35,272, to cover the costs for the tuition, housing, books and other school fees.

Student-athlete scholarships are available, though, but only a few can afford a full international scholarship. The international scholars will also be required to have an incoming grade-point average of 3.0 or higher to qualify for the financial scholarship which is equivalent to $8000, or $4000 per semester.

The proof of funds are not the only things that are needed in order to gain admission, because it entails a longer process. There are just a lot of documents and requirements that students are required to submit; there are also certain criteria for the things that are needed. At the end of the day, there will always be great resources around the campus to help out all the athletes.
