Those who have degrees related to science, technology, and engineering can find internship opportunities at the National Aeronautics Space Administration or NASA. The space agency offers hands-on practical experiences that complement what the student has already learned in the classroom. Here are some of those opportunities for the NASA internship program for summer 2017.

NASA Internship Program at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory

The Jet Propulsion Program (JPL) NASA internship program is a full-time internship opportunity for those who have graduate and undergraduate degrees in mathematics, engineering, science, and technology. The program runs for 10 weeks and those who are interested should be available for 40 hours every week. Moreover, the students should have a minimum GPA score of 3.0.

The summer internship program at JPL starts in May and June while application starts on the first day of April. Those who get accepted will receive a weekly stipend but the amounts vary and could change anytime.

NASA Internship Program at Glenn Research Center

The internship program at the Glenn Research Center accepts applicants for fall and summer. The fall program runs for 16 weeks while summer has a 10-week program. Unlike the JPL program which only accepts undergraduate and graduate students, the center accepts those who are attending an accredited 2-year college or university. They also accept senior high school graduates who are college-bound. All the applicants need to have is a 3.0 GPA score and they should be U.S. citizens as well.

The NASA internship program for summer has two sessions with the first session starting on June 5 and ending on August 11. The second session, on the other hand, starts on June 12 and ends on August 18.

According to the Glenn Research Center website, undergraduate interns receive a $6,000 stipend while graduate interns get $7,500. Those who are accepted as teaching interns receive a $10,000 stipend. Moreover, eligible applicants also receive a one-time travel reimbursement for up to $5,000.
