"No Man's Sky" has been nominated for the 2017 Game Developers Choice Award alongside A-list titles like "Battlefield 1" and "Overwatch." Moreover, dataminers have uncovered evidence of new land vehicles, mounted weapons and a host of upgrades hidden in the Foundation Update.

The GDC website now lists "No Man's Sky" as a contender, asking fans of the game to now vote. Every participant is asked to vote once and required to have a valid email address. Voting will officially close on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 11:59 p.m. PST.

"No Man's Sky" inclusion in the 2017 GDC Awards is a prestigious one. Hello Games faces stiff competition from popular titles like "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," "Battlefield 1," "Overwatch" and "Pokemon Go."

Meanwhile, evidence of new vehicles, weapons and upgrades have been dug by dataminers in the latest patch for "No Man's Sky." Redditor eegandj uncovered plans of ground vehicles specifically a buggy and later on an actual model.

Shortly after, more dataminers have uncovered ways to unlock new land vehicles. A recent report revealed that ATVs will be released for "No Man's Sky" in a future patch alongside new weapons and more upgrades.

Mounted weapons and vertical boosters are coming to "No Man's Sky" that will require players to first master unlocking the new gear. This will entail farming, terminal building, and even getting a mechanic. To obtain all the necessary materials, players need to complete a list of missions.

The new land vehicles to be featured in "No Man's Sky" are fully upgradable using current in-game technologies, PowerUpGaming has learned. This will allow players to collect things like Jetpacks or achieve top speeds. This also includes adding more storage and upgrading weapons systems.

However, there is no official confirmation as of yet from Hello Games regarding the new findings. Nonetheless, the recent Foundation Update in "No Man's Sky" has already initiated a host of new features like the Normal, Creative and Survival Modes. Included in the patch is the option to buy huge and customizable interstellar freighters that can be used to hold valuable supplies to sell at trading posts, Express Online reported.
